In these cars, the O2 sensor does little. At WOT, the DME ignores it completely. If you have any question about the O2 sensor, just unplug it. The car runs just fine w/o it - just an emissions thing. The sensors at the back of the block are the reference sensors. If they are origional, they are often brittle, and go bad when they are messed with. If you need new ones, look here: http://www.944spec.org/944SPEC/forum/general/13833-parts-cross-reference-save- There are cheaper equivalent options than OEM.

Oh man sounds like some good progress. I'll be back in action next weekend! I bought some more gloves, towels and a can of xylene today. Hopefully I'll have some parts in hand as well. Also I was reading the thread below and it kind of sounds like what my car was doing before it just gave up all together because we got it to run for awhile at the beginning but it wouldn't idle. I guess we'll see when the injectors get back!

Looking forward to all the 944Spec cars. I got to work on my buddy Irb's 944 this weekend getting it ready for Sebring next weekend. We did all four rotors, lines, and HP+ pads plus ATE Blue fluid. It was interesting doing the fronts having to remove the hub and bolt the rotor to it. Definitely not as quick and easy as an E30. I did like that you can get the pads in without having to do any bolts on the calipers, but that notch on the outside pad is annoying. I'm hoping to convince him to go to Memphis in November.

You are correct, the brakes are a PITA. I do like the way the car runs on the track though. Reminds me of my old AH Sprite back (way back) in the old days. Bring your buddy we should have at least four of the cars in the Nov event. Maybe two in comp school.

"Manuel, according to Porsche,  Part number 951 356 041 07 is on back order.  No ETA is  currently available." These lines are scarce, only after searching for about 2 hours and calling 5 stores I finally found one in stock. It's inbound from cali!!

"Fireball" is talking about a fuel line.....
We have Pat's car next in line for cage welding so plenty to see and do this weekend.
Had a call from one of out of town members asking about a 944 for a father/son project.

After installing the new fuel line and reworked injectors it lives!!!! Clutch, trans, brakes all checked out.

Steve has his cage ready for paint.

Pat took his for a cruise again.....

That's it from the Piddling Porsche Party....where the racers are fast....and the DE'ers are bright.

Glad to see Manny's car is now running. Strange how these injectors seem to be a big issue. Probably a bunch of non-running cars out there that have the same issue.
