I think we will see a lot of PTB cars jump up to ST3, with the aero option you can basically upgrade all the weak spots of the car, add a little power and probably spend less money overall.

Which ones? Maybe at the national level, but there weren't any at the regional level (MW/GL) other than one or two, myself included.

Some (most?) of us can't go to ST3. Most cross over to other classes and have to run PTB.

It just seems like a logical step for someone in the PTB arena.

There are currently three (3) cars at my shop that are PTE legal and 2 of them should be at most of the GL events in 2013. I plan to drive my #133 Honda CRX SI 2012 PTE National Championship winning car in Honda Challenge 4 at most of the GL events, but if we get to the week of the event and there aren't any H4 competitors then I can bolt on the Hoosiers and play in PTE. 2011 PTE/TTE National Champion Brian Makse should be back out for most of the season in the #786 Honda Civic SI. The #787 Honda Civic SI is in the process of going to a new owner, but the plan is still for me to house and support the car and I'm hoping the new owner will want to run a complete GL schedule in PTE.

I'm looking forward to seeing a resurgance in the PT classes for 2013. I remember back in 2008 when we first started racing in PTE there were close to 15 cars at a few of the events, with a good mix of Neons, Civics, SE-R's and Miatae, and it would be awesome to see the class return to those type of numbers.

Regards,

Sam

I like it!

So it looks like the best chance we have at big competitive PT fields is PTE. I will be ballasting my car up to run in E. Let's make the big push for E next year!

Again, NOT trying to push anyone individually. Simply facilitating some communication. If you came to this thread curious what PT class has the most potential for large fields we have our initial answer.

Still looking for any and all feedback from PT racers.

Yay for PTE! Can't wait, it's gonna be a blast!

How many of you will be running GL events vs MW events? I'll probably be running a full GL schedule again this season.

I'm planning to be at all of the GL events, which should be a few crossovers, so that may account for 2-3 of the MW events as well. Primary goal will be to race in H4, but if there is an event where I'm the only H4 car then I'll bolt on the Purple Crack and come play in PTE.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the track in 2013!

Regards,

Sam

I doubt we will run every single event with GL and MW but we do plan a nice mix of both regions (kinda depends on what the final schedule is too!)

Looks like I will be running PTE without any help :) Grid filler is probably the best I will be able to manage until the car is sorted. It will take some work just to start and run.
