Hello,

This is a rule clarification on the 3 NCO requirement for new competitors. As it looks like I will have a green co-driver at Cherokee Trails. And I plan on entering the 2 ESRC rallies rather than the 1 USRC event.

Would a novice co-driver have to attend both NCOs? I would seem that they would have to attend the NCO on both Thursday and Friday based on 2.4.8 in rules. If they are considered succesive events?

Also would they be barred from racing the second day because of 2.4.5 which states that "Only competitors who have never participated in a stage rally including events held by other sanctioning bodies. may compete in their first NASA Rally Sport event without obtaining a NASA Rally Sport Competition License, but will be required to have such license at subsequent events." Since it would technically be a subsequent event?

Thanks,
Andrew

I think it is a "weekend" event, so the 2 days count as one for license issues.

I think you can read this one as:

(1) one novice meeting per multiday event; and
(2) your freebie without license will cover you first event, whether a single day or multiday.

The intent of requiring 3 NCOs is so that the various safety requirements, e.g., triangles, red cross, etc., are ingrained in early and well.

Regards,

Wilson

Cool,

That is what I thought was meant by the rule just looking for a little clarification for the multi day event setup.

Thanks,
Andrew
