Well, I'm all in now. Bought a cam for the LS1. Should easily make ST2 power now :-).
We only have a few responses, and the poll didn't quite seem to match the replies, so in the end looked close to 50/50.
I had to spend money either way, and this only cost me about $10/HP - love my LS motor!

I think it matches?

Sterling Doc, moremazda, LVINC: Voted to move to ST2 and posted reasons why.

farberio: voted staying in ST3 and posted.

Bnjmn: no poll vote and no post.

What are you guys all frightened of me in ST3!

I'm in for ST3, especially if we can get over 5 cars regularly?!

I thought Ray was looking at ST3, but he is still on the fence. It looks like Ryan could go either way.

There are a bunch more out there, but they must not come on line much. Hopefully they know about the rules change!

Today's work involved adding another piece of ex-NASCAR hardware - Boomtube!

Prototyping a DIY front airdam. Inspired by the "Crusher" Miata. I get my inspiration from a full spectrum of sources!
This is one of the fun parts of ST - dream it up, and do it!

Curious what are the lap times for ST3? I ran st2 back in 2011 and 12, it was fun but the cost of running a higher powered car can get up there. Just a thought to anyone on the fence between the 2 classes.

So I'm going to stay st3 for this next year, and try my best to take advantage of the rules the way are. So a little rework in the motor, a little aero, and a little less wheel lift on that inside front :)

So st3 right now is me, jordan, and ray.

There is Jim and Richard as well, both in c5 vettes. I think Jeremiah fox is tuning in his STI. Another EVO may enter as well.

It would be great to get a max 10 car count every now and again with a consistent 5-7 at each event.

Is it Jim's Vet that has all the aero? I have suspicions that that car may move to ST2 due to the new aero restrictions in ST3 though I can't say I have all the measurement details of his car.

Was Jeremiah's STI out at NCM this season? If I recall correctly there was a surprise STI entrant on track for practice that unfortunately did not start the races.

Jim can still run all the aero, but he has to de tune, or add weight.

Yes that was his STI at NCM, but his fuel pump died during practice.

Hey all! I haven't been on here in a little while, just thought I'd let you guys know I plan on staying in st3 next year, detune/add weight, however I can do it. Adding HP, and therefore cost to go up to st2 doesn't sound too appealing right now.

That was me at NCM last year, unfortunately like mweber said, my fuel pump died during practice on Saturday and the closest replacement was 4 hours away.
