I just moved to North East Ohio and I'm looking for a place to mount and balance tires. I have gone to Mr. Tire, but didn't like paying over $100 to mount and balance 4 tires. Seams ridiculous to me seeing that in VT I paid $45 for 4 tires mounted and balanced. I was wondering if you guys/girls know of a place in the greater Cleveland area that is cheap to mount/balance tires. Where is the best place to go?

The best? White Wheel in West Park - cleaned, computer checked for run-out, monted, balanced - $125
The cheapest? Walmart $45, good luck

Exit 11 Tire in Richfield has always done a great job for me.

Thanks for the replies. Walmart usually complains about how stiff the side walls are on r-comp tires and have screwed up balancing in the past for me.

Richfield is almost on my way home from work. I may have to give them a try sometime soon.

Where are you in NE Ohio? I have a few stores that can do racing tires.

Checking radial run out on a racing assembly is overkill. RRO / Hunter Road Force relates to the spring rate of the tire sidewalls and the frequency that creates as a tire spins in contact with the ground. Checking the wheels should be done every time for racing wheels (cracks, bends, etc).

Biggest thing with racing tires is making sure the beads are seated 100% (good lubrication, inflating to max sidewall pressure and bleeding down).

Should only static balance the assemblies. Static is a once-per-revolution imbalance that causes "hooping" that gets worse as speed increases (more force as mass is thrown faster). Dynamic balancing is both couple and static balancing. Couple is a low speed lateral imbalance (equal weight, 180* of of phase and throw the axis of rotation).

Any improper tooling to the balance machine: not centered assemblies, front coning, uneven torque distribution to mounting plate and wheel hub...will cause couple numbers to increase (lateral) and in turn dynamic. Issue is dynamic is static also and typically static is screwed up (added too much weight due to high couple numbers).

Anyway, shoot me a PM. I will get you in touch with a few stores that understand all that.
